Michigan Reaches 60% First-Dose Milestone In COVID-19 Vaccination Effort
On Friday, Governor Whitmer announced that Michigan has reached 60% of people receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Whitmer thanked everyone who has gotten vaccinated, the medical community and frontline workers.
She says she’s “pleased to see that so many Michiganders are continuing to make the choice to get vaccinated.”
As vaccinations have slowed in Michigan and across the country, reaching the 60% milestone is an important step in the return to normal.
The governor’s office says Michigan has administered more shots based on population than Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Georgia.
