City of Sanford Continues Traditional Fourth of July Fireworks

A tradition for more than two decades continues this year in Sanford.

The pandemic and historic flooding changed so many lives in Sanford a year ago.

The Sanford Lake Association announced that the public can rely on Fourth of July fireworks this year.

They say beginning at 7 p.m. on July 4, there will be musical entertainment at the Sanford Lake park, and organizers say it’s nice to start having some normalcy.

“This, I think, is going to be one of the first times that people are going to be able to relax a little but, get out into the community, see their neighbors, talk with friends, celebrate our country’s independence and just have a good time,” said John Kinkema, Fireworks Coordinator for the Sanford Lake Association.

The show is paid for with donations.
