An elderly female was found deceased in Mullet Lake near Dodge Point on Thursday evening.
The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to Dodge Point around 4:23 p.m. for a person floating in the lake and not breathing.
The body of 81-year-old Susan Lyons was recovered by the Cheboygan County Dive Team.
Authorities say Lyons has a home in Mullet Village.
“911 received a call from a person stating they found the female floating in the water already deceased and were about 1,000 feet from the shore of Dodge Point in Mullet Lake Village,” said Cheboygan County Sheriff, Dale Clarmont. “From the investigation we learned Susan was last seen on the beach and is known to swim frequently. At this time we do not believe the death to be suspicious.”
The family of Lyons have been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for today in Grand Rapids.
