Stanwood Man Crashes Into Ditch, Then Tree Outside Big Rapids

A crash outside of Big Rapids sent one man to the hospital after his vehicle went off the road.

The 20-year-old from Stanwood was driving on 11 Mile Rd near US-131 on Tuesday.

A little before 6:30 p.m., the driver went off the road and into a ditch where he lost control of the vehicle.

He hit a tree, and the vehicle traveled down an embankment before stopping.

Mecosta County deputies responded to the crash. The man was taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids for minor injuries and later released.
