Fire Crews Battling Wildland Fire In Grayling Area

UPDATE (6:17 PM):

The wildland fire now has a control line per the DNR.

Fire crews are working on the fire lines, and it is no longer growing.

The fire is under investigation.

Crawford County fire crews are currently battling a wildland fire in the Grayling area.

As of 5:54 p.m. Wednesday, the fire is located on Military property West of Wakeley Bridge Road, North of North Down River Road and East of Jones Lake Road.

The fire has grown to 120 acres and is headed West, but the Crawford County Emergency Management and Homeland Security says crews are making progress per units on the scene.

Crews are asking Michiganders to avoid the area at this time, and say both air and ground units are on the scene.
