UPDATE: Isabella County Police Still Searching for Suspect in Sexual Assault, Homicide Case

UPDATE: Police in Isabella County are still searching for a man they say sexually assaulted and killed a person early Sunday morning.

Isabella Homicide Suspect 1Police are encouraging residents of the Mount Pleasant area to keep their homes, outbuildings, and vehicles locked.

Police were called around 3:15 a.m. Sunday in regards to a sexual assault and homicide.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered a teenage female had suffered a stab wound, and succumbed to the fatal wound.

Additional investigation revealed that an adult female had been sexually assaulted.

Gardenhire is described as a Black male, six-foot-one and weighting 180 pounds.

He has black hair and brown eyes with a distinctive star shaped tattoo on the right side of his neck and a large circular tattoo on the left side of his neck.

Gardenhire is believed to be driving a stolen, dark colored 2014 Ford Fusion with a Michigan license plate that reads “CTBMIKE.”

A warrant for open murder and criminal sexual conduct first degree with a weapon was authorized by the Isabella County Prosecutor’s office.

Anyone with information on Gardenhire’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
