Incentive to Get Vaccinated Against COVID-19 at Rare Bird Brew Pub

The restaurant, retail and hospitality industries have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic and in northern Michigan, these businesses are getting ready for their busy season.

Helping the community and keeping people safe is the mindset at Rare Bird Brew Pub in Traverse City.

On Monday, from three to seven p.m. Rare Bird Brew Pub will hold a pop-up vaccination clinic on their patio.

“We know it’s a professional situation but at the restaurant, it’s more of a casual setting,” says Nate Crane, Rare Bird Co-Owner. “Some people might be intimidated going into a doctor’s office or a pharmacy, so this will break the ice a little bit. You can get vaccinated with your friends with no appointment and have a beer afterward.”

To Crane holding the pop-up clinic is a sign of triumph.

Crane says it has been tough, in 2020 Rare Bird Brew Pub was closed for about 152 days. The restaurant had a lot of business plans to change and ways to adapt. However, Crane says they made it through and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The first 200 people who work in the retail, hospitality or restaurant industry will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Rare Bird is also offering $1 Rare Bird beer and $3 cocktails.

The Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are will be offered. The Grand Traverse County Health Department will be administering the shots.
