A Newaygo County deputy attempted to stop a stolen Buick Lucerne in Bitely just after 5 on Sunday evening.
The driver is identified as Anthony Thomas Schafer.
The deputy say he kept driving and than ran away.
He got a ride to north of White Cloud on M-20, just west of M-37 and started running again.
We’re told Schafer is in violation of his parole.
