Sault Ste. Marie Hosts The 2021 Annual Young Eagles Days

Despite a few Saturday afternoon showers in Sault Ste. Marie, the annual Young Eagles Days went on.

For nearly three decades, Sanderson Field and the Soo Pilots Association have hosted the event.

Six Pilots volunteered their time to fly.

Nearly 100 children from ages 8 to 17 experienced a flight over the soo area, free of charge.

“You get to experience like it is a big airplane, but like in a miniature version.  And it’s like you are kind of riding like in an old airplane,” said Benjamin James who attended the event.

After the flight, each participant filled out a certificate and their name was entered into the world’s largest pilot log book.
