A Central Lake man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two women in Antrim County on Monday.
Michigan State Police were dispatched to a home on Intermediate Lake Road in Central Lake Township around 6:15 a.m. on Memorial Day for a domestic assault that occurred earlier that morning.
Colton Jarrod Meeker, 26, was intoxicated and allegedly held a woman and her friend, along with three children, against their will at the residence while he physically assaulted the two women, including shooting one of the women with a BB gun. The victims were able to escape the residence and retrieve their phones from Meeker after he passed out.
Troopers and deputies from the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office contacted Meeker while he was sleeping on a couch and arrested him after a short struggle.
Meeker was arraigned on two counts domestic violence third offense, one count assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts interfering with an electronic communications device, one count assault and battery and habitual offender third offense notice. His PR bond was issued at $50,000.
