Woman Injured In Big Rapids Crash


UPDATE (05-31-21): The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday that a woman involved in the single car crash in Big Rapids passed away from her injuries on Sunday.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office says a woman has been severely injured in a car crash Saturday.

They say the 56-year-old woman was traveling North on 205th Avenue near Arthur Road in Big Rapids when she ran off to the right and over corrected, resulting in her her car rolling several times.

Big Rapids Township Rescue found the woman pinned inside the car, and extracted her.

The woman was taken to a Big Rapids emergency room with severe injuries, but was later flown by aero-med to a Grand Rapids hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office says that alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
