U.S. Secretary of State Visits Middle East to Solidify Ceasefire

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv, Israel early Tuesday to begin his tour of the Middle East.

The purpose of his visit is to solidify the Gaza ceasefire agreed to last Friday.

It came after 11 days of conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The State Department says Blinken will hold meetings in Israel, the West Bank, Egypt and Jordan over the next three days.

Blinken is the highest-ranking official from President Biden’s administration to visit the region.
