Michigan Works! of Traverse City Holds Virtual Job Fairs

As the state begins to open up, getting people back to work is important, and Michigan Works! in Traverse City is doing their part.

On Tuesday, they held two virtual job fairs.

The first session consisted of hospitality, retail, and healthcare, while the second session included construction and seasonal jobs.

Rob Dickinson, Director of Business Services, says Michigan Works! is there to prepare and get people back into the work force.

“So Michigan Works! job is to match those job seekers with employers,” said Dickinson. “We are partnering with a lot of people in the community right now to make sure that we are not only trying to get people that were already working back there, but also prepare those people who weren’t there yet and get them ready for their next step.”

Tuesday’s event had approximately a 60% attendance rate, which is exactly what Michigan Works! was hoping for.
