TRIDENT Arrests Three For Selling And Smuggling Meth, Heroin

The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team and the Sault Ste. Marie police department arrested three on Sunday, May 23 for selling and smuggling narcotics.

The three arrested were 19-year-old River Kalakaua McGrail, of Sault Ste. Marie, 25-year-old Joslyn Alexus Ward, of Sault Ste. Marie and 27-year-old Cheyenne Marie Manitowabi of Kincheloe

Detectives from TRIDENT have been investigation a group of people selling methamphetamine and heroin within Chippewa County and had received information that members of the group drove down to the Lower Peninsula to bring back more narcotics.

On the evening of May 23, the groups vehicle was stopped and a search warrant was executed for the vehicle.

TRIDENT seized over 100 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of heroin.

McGrail was arrested for the following:

  • Three counts of delivery of methamphetamine;
  • Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine;
  • Conspiracy, delivery of methamphetamine; and
  • Possession of heroin.

Ward was arrested for the following:

  • Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine;
  • Possession of methamphetamine;
  • Possession of heroin; and
  • Conspiracy, delivery of methamphetamine.

Manitowabi was arrested for the following: 

  • Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine;
  • Possession of heroin;
  • Maintaining a drug house; and
  • Obstructing justice.

All three were arraigned on Monday, May 24 in the 91st District Court.
