Farwell Man Is In Police Custody After A Shooting & Manhunt in Clare County

The Clare County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the area of Finley Lake and Cedar in Lincoln Township around 7:30 Sunday morning after reports of someone shooting at a house.

The Sheriff’s Office says the house was occupied, but there were no injuries.

Deputies say they found bullet holes in the house and vehicles parked in the driveway.

Deputies say the suspect is a 45-year-old Farwell man who lives nearby the house that he allegedly shot at.

It was reported that he ran into the woods.

An arrest and search warrant were issued.

The suspect was found 9.5 hours later with a drone.

Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski says, “After several hours of attempted contact with him and no luck, we obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant for his residence. We ended up locating him out into the woods and he eventually surrendered.”

He was taken to the Clare County Jail where he is waiting to be arraigned.
