Republicans & Democrats Look for Common Ground On Infrastructure Bills

Republicans and Democrats remain at opposite ends on President Biden’s more than $2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill, but they are looking for common ground.

On Thursday, Biden met with a group of Republican senators who are leading the negotiations for the GOP.

They’re pushing for an infrastructure bill about a third of the size of Biden’s proposal that focuses on “traditional” infrastructure projects like roads, bridges and ports.

Biden says he wants to pass some kind of infrastructure bill with Republican support, even if it means breaking up his larger proposal into two parts.

The Republican senators who met with Biden say he asked them rework an infrastructure offer, which he will look over before reoffering one to them.
