The president of the second largest teachers union in the country is expected to call for schools to fully reopen this fall and will make his case in a virtual setting.
Other teacher unions are threatening to strike if members are forced back into the classroom.
More than half of K-8 grade schools in the country are already open for in person learning.
The Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said yesterday that he believes all schools should fully re-open immediately.
