Onaway Man Arrested For Child Sex Crimes

An Onaway man was arrested on May 10 after an investigation involving criminal sexual conduct was directed by the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.

Cody Lee Hoffmeyer of Onaway allegedly engaged in sexual contact with a minor over a number of years.

The Cheboygan County Prosecutor’s Office charged Hoffmeyer with three counts of criminal sexual conduct first degree; six counts of criminal sexual conduct third degree; one count criminal sexual conduct fourth degree; and one count accosting a child for immoral purposes.

Hoffmeyer was arraigned and his preliminary exam is set for May 28 in the 89 District Court, Cheboygan. Bond was denied
