Cadillac Veterans Serving Veterans, Community Members Come Together for Food Garden
The Cadillac Veterans Serving Veterans (VSV) food bank serves about 40-50 people every two weeks, and this summer, they’ll be getting fresh fruits and vegetables thanks to the help from community partners.
Students from the Wexford Missaukee Career Technical Center were out on May 13 at the Cadillac YMCA community garden prepping three plots of land that will be used to grow fruits and vegetables for the VSV food bank.
This will be a summer long project, called Veterans Feeding Veterans, that anyone in the community can get involved with.
“It means a lot,” said 11th grader Abigail Geeting. “All of us have a connection one way or another to a veteran, and they did so much for our country. It’s just nice to be able to give it back.”
