Biden Meets With Top Democrats & Republicans on Infrastructure Plan
President Biden will meet with a group of moderate Senate Republicans on Thursday to talk about their $600 dollar infrastructure counterproposal.
On Wednesday, Biden and the top four House and Senate party leaders met to discuss his more than $4 trillion American Jobs and Families Plans.
During the meeting, both parties agreed they believe a deal can be reached on infrastructure.
Republicans say they want to focus only on “traditional” infrastructure like roads, bridges and ports.
Both sides also disagree on how it should to pay for the plan. Republicans say Biden’s proposed tax hike on the wealthy is a non-starter.
The White House hopes to have progress on the bill by Memorial Day.
