Grand Traverse County Health Department is Allowing 12-15 Year-Olds to be Vaccinated
The Grand Traverse County Health Department is extending the age of those that qualify to be vaccinated.
Now, kids ages 12 to 15 are allowed to book an appointment.
The health department says they are confident of the safety of the vaccine for children.
They say the quickness of people in the area getting vaccinated is what has allowed them to allocate shots for those that are younger.
Health department director, Mike Lahey, says, “Those efforts are key to progressing to where we need to be so that we can really focus on getting where the state what’s to be with out vaccination numbers and keep on this trend of vaccinating the state.”
The Grand Traverse County Health Department says they have appointments for that age group starting on Thursday.
