Cadillac Resident Turns 103 Years Old, Surprised By Drive-Thru Birthday Parade
Not everyone lives to be over a century old, but that’s what one resident at Pleasant Lake Lodge senior home in Cadillac is celebrating.
He was born in 1918 in Manistee County and worked in Ann Arbor for most of his life at the University of Michigan hospital as a food service worker.
Friends, family, and first responders from Selma Township and Missaukee County surprised John with a drive by parade to wish him a happy birthday.
“I figured that there must be a reason that I lived up to 103,” said John. “Whatever the reason is!”
John says his secret to living a long life is taking care of yourself and eating the right foods.
