What’s in Season:  

Asparagus is the first thing to come out of the garden and often the first thing to go into the farmer’s markets. It is a versatile vegetable that you can have raw, roasted, sautéed and so much more! Over 100 different farms grow asparagus in Michigan!

Written and illustrated by the folks at Champion Hill honey, the picture book was written for young children with a strong message of love and respect for nature, as it focuses on the connections between humans, insects, and plants. Children will relate to the characters in the story, and adults will enjoy the sweet message

2021 Local Food Guide

The annual Taste the Local Difference Food Guide is almost here! From June 11-13, they are hosting a kickoff weekend called Get Your Guide Weekend. The guide will be available at many different local food businesses or shipped straight to your door.

May really kicks off growing season in Northern Michigan. In Michigan alone, there are over 240 farmer’s markets. Taste the Local Difference has compiled a list you can see by
