Live Concert This Wednesday With Entertainer Myrna Blackwood Hunt
Myrna Blackwood Hunt will be performing a benefit concert on May 12 from 7-8 pm at the Charlevoix Cinema III.
A little background on Myrna Blackwood Hunt is that she has been a performer and entertainer since the age of six when she was a member of the famous Blackwood Brothers Quartet Family that played at many venues throughout the south. She has shared the stage with many well-known artists including Leann Rimes, Tom Jones, Ronnie Milsap, The Gatlin Brothers, and comedians Red Skelton and Bob Hope. She has also performed at the Inaugural celebration for former President George Bush Sr. hosted by the Texas State Society, and Oprah Winfrey’s “Save The Children Foundation” in Dallas, Texas. She currently lives in Charlevoix.
Joppa House Ministries is a transitional home for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Joppa House offers a counseling program with mentors who train women in life skills and provide a healthy environment free from homelessness and addictions.
The program includes Gospel, Country songs, Broadway tunes, and some 80s/90s numbers. Tickets for the benefit concert are $35 and the proceeds will benefit Joppa House Ministries in Charlevoix. You can purchase them on the Charlevoix Cinema’s webpage here.
