Soo Area High School Drama Crew Hosts Performance of ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’
It’s been well over a year since the drama class at Soo Area High School has put on a show. This weekend, the class has a skit that is full of laughter and talent. ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’ will be held at the Strahl Theatre at the high school. It is a musical comedy that was first performed on Broadway in 2005.
The cost is $7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for students.
It will run April 30 and tomorrow, May 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
“This was introduced to me about six years ago and we staged it back then, six years ago,” said the SAHS drama teacher, Tracy Menard. “It was a lot of fun so with all the restrictions and worries about going into production with COVID-19, it was a really logical choice to do this production because it is a very small cast”.
Next weekend, the class will be performing the courtroom drama, ’12 Angry Men’ — also held at the Strahl Theatre.
