Mashup Rock & Roll Musical Back at it Again: Sequel to Scooby Doo-Wop
This year the Mashup will produce the sequel to their live drive-in theatre adventure, Scooby Doo-Wop. The no-contact event will feature a new dances, a mystery scavenger hunt, physical comedy, and, of course, parodies of doo-wop tunes. It’s a childhood favorite, brought to life!
Mashup Rock & Roll Musical will once again be partnering up with Old Town Playhouse in Traverse City, where the event will be held, in the back parking lot. You will be able to enjoy the show all all within the comfort of your own car.
The non-profit theatre troop prides themselves on producing original shows that include remixes of popular songs mixed with pop-culture, creating mash-ups. Leslie Tye, the Artistic Director, tells us, “Our motto is embrace the weird. So we’re very much about embracing everyone’s unique characteristics, and who they are as people.”
Scooby-Doo Wop Two-Wop starts May 1, 2, 8, and 9 with start times at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, and lasts about an hour. There will be limited parking spots for each performance, with all tickets reserved in advance. Tickets go on sale April 19th and you can buy them through the Mashup’s website here.
