Venture North To Give Out Grants to Small Businesses Impacted During Pandemic

Small businesses in northern Michigan hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to apply for grants of up to $5,000 through the Regional Resiliency Program.

The program is through Venture North Funding and Development and help from the Consumers Energy Foundation.

More than $52,000 is currently available for the program.

Eligible businesses are those with 9 or fewer full time employees.

Venture North says they hope this grant helps small businesses that are continuing to struggle during the pandemic.

“When we are looking at business needs for the next few months, they need assistance with inventory purchases, they need to keep people on payroll until maybe their season starts to ramp back up again in june, july,” says Laura Galbraith, president of Venture North Funding & Development.

Small businesses that applied for or received the grant in 2020 are also eligible to apply this year.

Applications start at 8 a.m. April 26  through May 7 at 5 p.m. by completing the application online at
