Mt. Pleasant Offering Exterior Improvement Funds to Residents

The city of Mt. pleasant is once again offering exterior improvement funds for its residents.

The Michigan State Development Authority and the city are teaming up to bring residents a total of $90,000 available for exterior improvements. Sixty thousand dollars will be for the westside neighborhood. the other $30,000 is available to all neighborhoods within city limits.

Mt. Pleasant mayor Will Joseph says the improvements will help keep houses up to code and safe.

“We really like the program,” Joseph said. “We’re really thankful to be able to get those monies from MSHDA and I know our employees who work in code enforcement have been very excited about this project because it is helping our neighborhoods and helping people who really could use a hand.”

There is a selection criteria that must be met and applications are due by May 19.
