Recycle-A-Bike Program: Accepting All Donations

It’s springtime here in Northern Michigan, so you know what that means – Spring cleaning!

If you’re cleaning out your house and have a bike you’d like to donate, consider the program in Traverse City.

This year marks 15 years that Don Cunkle, the program director, and his helpful volunteers have been running this non-profit program. These individuals have been devoting their time to provide bicycles for the less fortunate, and for those who do not have a means of transportation. Please note that this program does not offer services directly to individuals, and work with clients via partner organizations and social workers.

Don and his crew do their part by fixing the bikes as well, so don’t hesitate to bring in bike tires, seats, reflectors, or any other separate pieces because those can always be used! And if you have a bike, but it needs some fixing up, complimentary repairs are also available. The program isn’t just limited to donations. If you’re in the market for a bike of your own, purchases can also be made at the workshop.

The shop is located on 1220 Woodmere Avenue in Traverse City.
