Officer & Police Chief Resign After Daunte Wright Shooting in Minnesota
The police officer involved in the shooting of Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota has resigned.
The officer, Kim Potter, reportedly mistook her hand gun for a taser and shot Wright at a traffic stop after he resisted arrest.
Her boss, Police Chief Tim Gannon, also announced his resignation.
Crowds gathered outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department for the third night in a row on Tuesday.
Police used pepper-spray and flash bang grenades to control the crowds behind a chain-link fence after bottles were thrown at police.
Police called the gathering an “unlawful assembly” and made several arrests.
