Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan Receives TC Optimist Grant
The TC Optimist Club has given nearly $20,000 to local youth groups.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan was one of 20 recipients of the grant.
They say this money will go towards background check for their adult volunteers.
Development coordinator, Kris Hoxie, says this will cover 50% of those fees for one year.
Hoxie says, “Those reduced costs actually allow us to increase our recruitment efforts for volunteers. So that we can actually begin to serve more children.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan says this grant will also allow them to focus their efforts on recruiting volunteers.
