Judge Rules George Floyd’s Friend Will Not Have to Testify in Trial

Week three of the Derek Chauvin murder trial is underway.

The defense is expected to start its case on Tuesday.

During “spark of life testimony” yesterday, George Floyd’s younger brother Philonise Floyd told jurors about Floyd’s close relationship with their mother.

He said when she died in 2018, Floyd did not want to leave the casket.

On Monday, the judge ruled the passenger who was in the car with Floyd at the time of the arrest last May will not be testifying in the trial.

The defense has not said if Chauvin will take the stand to testify.
