Chauvin Trial Expected to End in Coming Days

Week three of the Derek Chauvin murder trial will kick off today.

It’s happening as just 10 miles away, protests have erupted in Brooklyn Center of a police shooting of a Black man.

Chauvin, a former police officer, is accused of killing George Floyd. His death sparked nationwide protests last summer.

The prosecution is expected to call a few more medical witnesses and some of George Floyd’s family members to the stand.

In Minnesota, so-called “spark of life testimony” is allowed where people who knew the victim can talk about who they were in life.

The prosecution is expected to rest its case today or tomorrow.
