Biden & Harris to Meet with Bipartisan Group on Infrastructure Plan

President Biden and Vice-President Harris are expected to meet with a group of bipartisan lawmakers on Monday to discuss their infrastructure plan.

The more than $2 trillion bill includes funding to fix roads and bridges, expand broadband internet access, build affordable housing and repair schools.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, a spokesperson for the plan, says it’s what the country needs right now.

Republican Representative Liz Cheney says the plan would “need to be fundamentally redone” in order for her to vote for it.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will not scale back the bill to gain Republican support.

Republicans meeting at the White House today say if Biden and Harris want GOP support, the meeting needs to be real negotiation and not just a courtesy call.
