Houghton Lake Camping World Expects Busiest Year Yet

As the weather turns warmer, camper and RV stores are seeing an uptick in business.

Last year, the pandemic forced many people to find safe activities to do outdoors, which resulted in many people turning to camping.

Camping World in Houghton Lake says they don’t expect this year to be any different.

The weekend, they’re hosting their annual Northern Michigan Spring RV Expo.

Just today, hundreds of people came in to look or buy used or new campers.

James Haacke, a sales associate at Camping World says this year may be the biggest year they’ve seen.

“You’re seeing more and more people taking the RV’s and that’s their office and we’re finding a lot of first-time buyers and a lot of people getting into the business for the first time,” says Haacke.

The Northern Michigan Spring RV Expo starts Friday and will be going throughout the weekend.
