Grand Traverse Conservation District Relaunches Peepers Program

The Grand Traverse Conservation District is relaunching its Peepers Program after taking its winter break.

The hour-long nature program allows children ages 3 to 5 learn about and experience the outdoors.

All activities are outside and kids break into smaller groups to learn.

The conservation district says this helps them practice social distancing.

They say they already saw a great response from people participating in Tuesday’s activities and they hope to see even more kids learning to love the outdoors.

“We just feel like especially in times of COVID, it definitely highlights the importance of getting outside together, getting outside with your kids and teaching them ways to engage in the outdoors and connect with it,” said Taryn Carew, Education Director.

The Peepers meet Tuesday mornings at the Boardman River Nature Center.
