Americans Who Already Filed Tax Returns Also Get New Tax Break

Americans who lost their jobs last year and already filed their tax returns now have one less thing to deal with.

The IRS says it will automatically recalculate their returns to account for the new stimulus tax break.

That’s for the first $10,200 of unemployment compensation received last year.

The IRS will send any refund directly to taxpayers starting in May.

The provision is part of the $1.9 trillion relief package the president signed last month.
