Five Traverse City Wineries Win Awards at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
More than 1,000 wineries competed in the 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Five wineries from Traverse City’s wine coast took home 35 awards.
Bluestone Vineyards, Boathouse Vineyards, Chateau Grand Traverse, Rove Estates, and Leelanau Cellars all took home awards.
TC Tourism says these awards prove the Traverse City area is a wine destination.
“It lets people know exactly what we have here. We’re still an up and coming wine destination so when we get these types of accolades when we get this type of recognition, people take it seriously. They want to come experience it themselves they want to find that wine on the shelves and buy it,” said Trevor Tkach, President of Traverse City Tourism.
Leelanau Cellars was awarded best in class for their red sangria.
