Boyne City’s Stiggs Brewery and Kitchen Continues to Give Free Meals with Feed a Friend Program

A Boyne City restaurant is giving free meals to those who may be struggling during the pandemic.

Img 5306Stiggs Brewery and Kitchen started their Feed a Friend program at the start of the pandemic after one of their regulars suggested they start a free meal program for those in need.

Customers can call in to the restaurant during business hours on Sundays and ask for a “Feed a Friend” meal at no cost with no questions asked.

Stiggs Brewery and Kitchen owner Mike Castiglione said they’ve helped 25-30 people a week with this program.

“It’s kind of eye opening. It’s just really nice to give back to the community that supported us so much,” he said. “There’s definitely a need for free food for those who need it, and we’re just filling a tiny gap here every Sunday.”

Castiglione said about 15 local businesses have donated to keep the Feed a Friend program running, and has even become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

If you would like to donate to the Feed a Friend program, you can make a donation on their website here or stop by the restaurant in person.
