Spring is right around the corner and so is severe weather. This week is Michigan’s severe weather awareness week. We are going to talk about Weather Alert Days. a brand new system from the Doppler 9&10 Weather Team.
We implement a Weather Alert Day for a number of reasons, let’s break it down.
It is important to Highlight Impactful Weather, Hours to Days ahead of the severe weather event, and we issue it for ALL types of weather conditions. This spring we focus on the threat of tornadoes, damaging wind over 60 mph, hail that is quarter-sized or greater.
We also look for the potential of flooding roadways.
