Turtle Creek & Leelanau Sands Casinos Distribute Money from Cash in on Kindness Initiative

Turtle Creek and Leelanau Sands casinos gave back to the Traverse City community Wednesday afternoon.

They made donations to Michael’s Place and Child and Family Services in Traverse City.

The money came from the Cash in on Kindness initiative at both casinos.

It collected more than $7,000 dollars in January and February.

The casino’s and organizations say the money will make a big difference in the community.

“We want to be a part of this community, and we want to be a positive force for the whole Traverse City area to bring us up, we’re all in this together and we all want good things for this area,” said David Shubinski, Director of Marketing for Turtle Creek, Leelanau Sands.

“In the case of this donation today, what we’re talking about is supporting our Safe Haven supervised visitation and exchange program, which is a program that helps families which are impacted by domestic violence or high conflict,” said Gina Aranki, Executive Director, Child & Family Services

The Cash in on Kindness program was started in February of last year and has collected more than $27,000 for local charities.
