Dive Team Retrieves Stolen Car From Newaygo Co. Creek

Newaygo Car

A stolen car had to be fished out of a creek in Newaygo County on Friday.

The sheriff’s office says the car was found on Thursday upside down and submerged where the Rosey Run Creek flows into the Hardy Dam Pond in Big Prairie Township.

A dive team pulled it out on Friday, and that’s when law enforcement learned it was stolen.

They ran the plates, revealing it was stolen from Kent County in 2008.

The sheriff’s office says the car appears to have been in the creek “for an extended length of time.”
