Microsoft Warns Hackers Linked to China Hit Exchange Email Accounts
Microsoft is urging Exchange users to download software patches after they found a breach.
The technology company says hackers linked to China hit its Exchange email servers.
Four vulnerabilities in the software were found that gave the hackers access to email accounts and allowed them to install malware.
Microsoft says the cloud-based version of Exchange was not affected.
The company believes the attack came from a Chinese state-sponsored hacker but it did not provide evidence for that assessment.
In response, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the country opposes and fights all forms of cyber-attacks.
