Iraq Rockets Strike Base Hosting U.S. Troops
Iraq rockets have struck a base that hosts U.S. troops.
The U.S.-led coalition in Iraq says at least 10 rockets struck Ain al-Asad airbase in the Anbar province Wednesday morning.
No casualties have been confirmed at this time.
This is the first counterattack since the U.S. struck an Iran-aligned militia base on Iraq’s border with Syria last week.
The attack comes two days before Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Iraq.
