Crawford Co. Traffic Stop Turns into Chase in Woods

Police arrested two people in Crawford County after a traffic stop in Crawford County turned into a chase.

The sheriff’s office says one of the men refused to put down his shotgun.

Deputies tried to stop a side-by-side Tuesday night on North Old 27 in Frederic Township, but the driver took off.

Deputies chased the side-by-side to a home in Grayling Township and arrested the driver.

Police later tracked down one of the passengers, who they say ran to a nearby woods. Officers arrested him using a bean bag round and a state police K-9 after he refused to drop the weapon.

Two officers got hurt in the process and were treated for their injuries.
