California City Bans New Gas Stations
A northern California city is taking a major step in the direction of moving away from fossil fuels.
The city of Petaluma is banning the construction of new gas stations.
It’s a move believed to be the first of its kind in the U.S.
Their city council members say gas vehicles will soon be outdated and they don’t want to create more infrastructure that will become obsolete.
And the city’s existing 16 gas stations will not be allowed to add additional pumps.
