The World Health Organization has granted AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine emergency authorization.
The first batches of the vaccine will be available later this month.
The WHO recommends the vaccine for adults, including in countries where new variants of the coronavirus are circulating.
Right now AstraZeneca’s vaccine does not have emergency authorization in the U.S.
