One major concern during the coronavirus pandemic has been to not overwhelm our hospital systems.
Munson Medical Center in Traverse City is treating 35 patients with COVID-19. Ten of those patients are in the ICU and 60% of their beds are full.
Spectrum Health in Big Rapids is treating six patients with the virus. Two of them are in the ICU and the hospital is at 72% capacity.
And McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey is treating 10 cases of the virus. All of them are in the ICU with the hospital at 47% capacity.
But things are worse downstate. As of Monday, 14 Michigan hospitals were more than 90% full.
- Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw is treating 161 patients; 30 of them are in the ICU and the hospital is at 91% capacity.
- Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is also at 91% capacity. They have 98 COVID-19 patients; 15 of them are in the ICU.
- And Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids is treating 56 patients with the virus; 22 of them are in the ICU and 71% of its beds are full.
