Traverse City DDA Auctioning Off Cyber Monday Gift Baskets to Raise Money for Relief Fund
Looking for that perfect northern Michigan present this holiday season?
What’s even sweeter is that all the proceeds from the Holiday Auction, sponsored by West Shore Bank, will go towards the Downtown Relief Fund.
The money will support the hundreds of small business owners and employees who have been hit hard by COVID-19’s economic blow.
The Traverse City DDA will auction off twenty baskets full of food, wearables and local experiences too. Every piece of the basket will be from a local business, including stores like The Cheese Lady, What to Wear, Hotel Indigo and more.
The DDA hope shoppers pick a store with a door this holiday season so these businesses can survive.
“As far as the auction goes, it’s a good way for the stores to promote their products that they have right now,” said Katy McCain, the DDA’s director of community development. “It’s extremely safe to come down and shop right now everyone’s adhering to all the mandates, masks are worn in stores.”
McCain says they’re hoping to raise $10,000.
The auction will be live Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 11. All proceeds will benefit the Downtown Relief Fund.
