Michigan Officials Announce $10 Million Grant for Wastewater COVID-19 Testing

The state is granting $10 million of coronavirus relief funding for wastewater testing programs.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy says the CARES Act funding will target existing COVID-19 wastewater surveillance systems.

EGLE says for the final three months of this year, they’ll use labs currently designated to monitor beaches for E. coli to collect samples and analyze if COVID-19 is in certain communities.
